The Goldeneye is Nat Herreshoff's best small boat design. She has the most delightful-sensitive-neutral helm. Her speed is surprisingly fast and lively and responsive. The molding of the haul and deck in one piece, probably the most expensive method used in fiberglass construction, is the best. The self-baling cockpit complete with form-fitting seats, is molded in one piece and is mechanically fastened to the hull. The fiberglass rudder is mounted on a bronze shaft, secured at the bottom with bronze casting incorporating pintle. At top, the shaft bears in a bronze rudder port. Rudder head casting is of bronze and tiller of steam bent ash. Woodwork throughout is the finest Burma teak, with Sitka spruce bowsprit.
EXTRAS: mainsail, roller furling genoa with sunshield, life lines, self tailing jib sheet winches (Lewmar), outboard bracket, mainsail cover.
